Join award-winning fiddler and educator Sarah Larsen for an evening celebrating the life, music, and enduring influence of Kenny Baker, widely regarded as the “Godfather of Bluegrass Fiddle.” Through stories, demonstrations, and live performance, Larsen guides audiences through Baker’s remarkable career, from his early years to his legendary tenure with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys.

Known for his elegant long-bow style, Kenny Baker helped define the sound of bluegrass fiddle and inspired generations of musicians. As part of this special program, Larsen explores Baker’s signature tunes, musical innovations, and lasting impact on American roots music.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the landmark recording Kenny Baker Plays Bill Monroe, Larsen and her band will perform the album in its entirety. She is joined by Jim Pankey (banjo), Ryan Rogers (mandolin), Cory Chubb (guitar), and Rob Parks (bass) for an authentic tribute to one of bluegrass music’s most influential recordings.
